What is your definition of success?
I define success as being passionate about what you do; meaning, the pursuit of something you feel passionate about is already a success. But success is also when you achieved the goals you have set for yourself.
How do you measure success?
I measure success by setting goals that either meet or exceed what is expected of me. When I set goals and passionately pursue them everyday, I add that day to my success bucket. I may encounter obstacles along the way—or may make mistakes—but I always try to adjust and improve my work habits so that I can reach my goals. And, when I finally do reach my goals, that’s also another measure of my success.
What did important people tell you about success?
Never stop learning. The more you learn, the more you understand that your knowledge is limited; therefore, you continue to learn some more and improve your life further.
Where were you born and raised?
San Carlos city, Negros Occidental, Philippines.
What was your upbringing like?
My parents own businesses that include lending, pawnshop, jewelry store, real estate, and sugar cane plantation among others. I’m fortunate to have loving parents who guided me in the right direction and instilled in me a business-mindset in my younger years, allowing me to see problems as opportunities, and turning those opportunities into a business.
As far back as you can remember, what was your very first experience of feeling successful?
Without diminishing my gratitude for the many opportunities my family business brought, my first experience of feeling successful—that I can truly claim as my own—is the more recent Vince Jacob medspa, the skincare global product launch, and the medical supply store. They are the culmination of a 10-year effort to bring my own business idea into fruition.
What is your most defining personality or trait?
I’m a natural introvert. I enjoy downtime with my children, my family and love ones, but… I also enjoy being extroverted with my clients! I like talking about how the Vince Jacob services and products can improve how they feel about themselves, hence improving their quality of life.
What qualities do you believe contributed to your success?
There are many qualities that contributed to my success. The most critical quality is vision. I had a vision of myself years ago standing in front of my Vince Jacob clinic opening. I had no idea exactly how or when the vision would become a reality, but in the years that followed I devoted my time and energy to thoughts and actions that were most conducive to that vision.
What is your occupation/career?
I am an entrepreneur who founded Vince Jacob. I am also the CEO and Managing Director.
What made you choose that occupation/career?
When I was younger, I had a lot of skincare problems. I experienced firsthand the diminished quality with how I felt about myself. So I tackled the issue and found solutions. In that regard, I want my clients to experience the same improvements that I did. The more recent medical supply line was launched to address growing corona virus concerns.
In one sentence, what do you do for work?
I change for the better what you see and how you feel when you look in the mirror. It may sound like magic, but it’s the quality services and products you’ll receive when you visit Vince Jacob.
Where did you attend school/college/training?
I completed two Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees: Biology and Nursing from Cebu Doctors University. I also attended one (1) year of medical school. My entrepreneurial upbringing, science education, and work experience as a Nurse led me to consider starting a business related to science here in the United States. I completed my skincare practitioner course at Career Academy of Beauty in Garden Grove, CA. I then pursued the medical aesthetic training for advanced technique at the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine in San Diego, CA.
Who were your inspirations growing up?
My parents are very hard working. Growing up, they were my biggest inspiration. They instilled in me a very strong work ethic.

Success is never owned. It is rented and the rent is due everyday.Robert Rodriguez Jr.
What is your advice to others who want to succeed in life?
If you don’t build your dreams someone will hire you to build theirs. As a former nurse, I know that the latter instead of the former is one of the most commonly expressed deathbed regrets.
